Madison, WI

We stayed in Madison for the week for the girls to attend a very neat cooking class at Sur La Table. We had a lot of fun!

Putting too many bubbles in Sara's bathtub!  Lots of giggles...

We let the girls pick out a gourmet cupcake at a nearby store after each cooking class day.

We went to visited Olbricht Butterfly Gardens. The rare plants there are so neat to see.

 We also went to see the giant telescope at the UW-Madison Observatory. We got to see the rings around Saturn! Their telescope is the same one that they first started to build right after the civil war. I can't imagine that they had the knowledge and materials to craft this then! It made it that much cooler to look through.

The telescope works with gears similar to a grandfather clock.

We went to the Madison Science Museum.  It was run down and several things were broken, but it still was fun to explore.

On our last night in Madison, we took the girls mini-golphine at Vitense (spelling?). I don't recall going there as a teen, but wish I would have gone more. It was so much fun even though there was a 100 degree heat index.  We couldn't do it for very long.

We followed mini-golf by an evening by the lake on the UW Terrace.
