Easter!

We had a wonderful Easter. The kids were thrilled to find their Easter baskets in the morning. We went to church, had an Easter egg hunt in the backyard, went to a nice lunch at my mom's house.  My friend Ali came for the lunch as her husband just joined the army and has been away for 6 months.  Here are some photos from the day:

Spring Break

We were blessed to have my niece, Sophia, join us for our spring break.  We had makeovers at the mall, went to the Mall of America on rides, went to the nature center, explored a historic house, went on a bike ride, took a painting class, played video games, went to see a movie, watched home movies, and had tons of snuggle time and play time.

Miscellaneous

I am still considered the Craigslist Queen among my friends.  I have been wanting a new comforter in the guest room and found the perfect one with my craigslist app on my phone.  It was a complete set that included matching sheets.  Now all I need is to paint the guest room and hang up some curtains. You can see the paint samples on the wall.

I have enjoyed this amaryllis plant that Sara gave me for Christmas.  It is so beautiful!!! Thanks Sara!

 

 

We had a few warm spring days this March.  Elyana loves opportunities to fly her kite outside.  Here she is attempting it in our backyard, snow still on the ground!

 

Mikayla's Choir Concert

I can't remember if I posted this yet.  Mikayla had her first choir concert in January.  She looked so pretty up on stage! Her voice is developing into such a beautiful talent! I hope that she begins to have more confidence in it and feels up to trying out for some solo parts!

 

March

This March has had a lot of activity. Mikayla went to a weekend camp with American Heritage Girls.  She earned a photography badge and learned a lot about photo shop.  It was the first time she went to camp without me. Here is a photo of her cabin she stayed in.  I hope to have some of her photos she took posted later.

Here are a few random photos of Elyana. The first was for a day at school where she could dress like a cowgirl.  I think she made an excellent cowgirl!  The others are her spring school picture day.  She looked so cute!  Her teeth are coming in nicely since we had three of them extracted a few months ago (2 extracted 6 months ago making it 5 teeth pulled total).  She has an appointment in a few weeks with the orthodontist.  We also have an eye check up for her due to complaints of things being blurry.  Poor kid.  She has inherited my eyes and my teeth it seems.

Elyana is still enjoying playing with homemade slime.  Here's the recipe if you are interested:
1 tsp of Borox dissolved in one cup of water.  In a separate container, mix 1/2 cup of Elmer's glue with 1/2 cup of water.  Add food color and glitter to this mixture if you want.  Then, pour Borox mixture into glue mixture.  Stir until goop forms.  There will be a lot of excess water.  Scoop out the slime and begin to work it with your hands until it solidifies.

Easter Jewelry

I made some jewelry with the intention of selling it before Easter.  I never got around to it. I hope to have some free time and make many more to maybe sell at a craft show sometime next year... I think they turned out cute.  They are tiny Easter egg jewels. Limited supply. Contact me if you would be interested in purchasing.  I was thinking $5 for earrings. $10 for a bracelet.  $20 for the necklace. The necklace has a nice magnetic closure.
